Dental implant types

Yes, several implant types are available. The American Dental Association considers both the endosteal (root form), mini-implants and the subperiosteal implants to be acceptable.

An important factor for selection is to determine whether your jawbone can adequately support the implants, and what type of final tooth replacement the patient requires. The number and type of implants will ultimately depend on the investment the patient is willing to make. Along twith the degree of comfort and chewing efficiency the patient wants, the physical constraints the patient presents and the longevity of the restoration requested. Dr. Gibbs will discuss all options thoroughly with the patient!
